Emergency care
Emergency care is the treatment of unexpected, severe medical injuries or infections. It is typically delivered in an emergency room or an ambulance. Our emergency medicine physicians stabilize your condition as quickly as possible to prepare you for the next step of care or discharge.
Features of our emergency department
Our hospital and affiliated emergency rooms are ready to serve the medical needs of residents and visitors alike. We are linked to and served by emergency medical services (EMS) providers, allowing for immediate response to any natural disaster in the community requiring expert emergency treatment.
Pediatric emergency care
In addition, our dedicated child-friendly emergency department provides specialized treatment rooms and has pediatric-trained, board-certified emergency physicians on staff.
Trauma centers
Our specially trained trauma teams care for your serious illness and accidents. Our Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Centers are recognized by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). We are committed to providing higher care, with emergency, surgical and neurological specialists standing by.
